Monday, January 31, 2005- Off the Coast of Oahu (Hawaii) => Honolulu

9:21am- 3:21pm Est. - Well, I was supposed to wake up at 4am this morning to watch the sunrise but of course I set my alarm for 4pm by accident instead. No worries because I ended up waking up at 6am exactly when the sun was rising behind thick clouds.
This morning we had a tugboat about a half mile off our port (left) side leading us in. Right now we’re right next to the island of Oahu and people have began to get cell phone service, but of course mine doesn’t work because it stinks. So all I have to do is sit here on the deck with the warm breeze blowing down on me.
6:02pm- 11:03pm Est. (we moved are clocks up an hour)- The Coast Guard met up with us as we went around the coast of Oahu. The sent out a zodiac boat from their ship and had about 8 Coast Guard members board our ship to look around before we got to port. They climbed off just as easily as climbed on.
We reached port around 3:30pm where we were met by two ambulances to take of the two injured members of the ship. The United State’s Custom’s Officers then boarded the ship and we all had to go through Customs. Right now they are finishing that up and soon we will be having a meeting for the whole shipboard community which will be lead by the CEO of Semester at Sea and some executives from the shipping company, V. Ships.
